UPDATED RECIPE
Old Fashioned Home Made Bread Recipe.
1 teaspoon of dried yeast
1 teaspoon of salt or to taste
NO SUGAR now
3 teaspoons of OLIVE OIL
2.5 cups of water WARM WATER
6 cups of all purpose flour - up to 6
So look how EASYYYY this is going to be….
In a good size mixing bowl put in the yeast and
And add in the WARM water and mix it thoroughly .
( I use a blender )
Once well blended cover the bowl and let sit for around 10 to 15 minutes To allow the yeast to activate.
Once the yeast has foamed up you can then add in the SALT and olive oil and blend that a bit.
Now BLEND in the flour a bit at a time and keep blending it in until YOU feel That it’s now too thick to use the blender any further
and then add in more flour and using either a strong fork , or your fingers , mix the flour in , adding more as it gets absorbed , until it’s thoroughly all mixed in and the mass is no longer too sticky.
Then pour it out on a floured counter and knead the mass until you feel that it easily forms a well cohesive form . ( like a ball ).
Now place it back in the bowl and cover it and leave it to rise until double in size. ( depending on room temp. – 60- 90 minutes )
Then pour it back on the counter and knead it and flatten it a few times
then cut it in half and form each piece into a bread–like shape of your choice and
then place each piece on to a gently oiled bread pan and cover and allow to rise until again doubled in size.
Once fully risen to your satisfaction preheat oven to 400f and then bake for 40 minutes or so , depending on how thick you’d like the crust.
When done , remove from oven and brush crust all over with water once or twice and then cover with a damp cloth and allow to cool a bit OR
what the heck !!!! just cut off piece and TRY IT !!
then send me an email to let me know if it worked out for you.
Thx
